Cornstarch
Dominica 2014-11-14
Cornstarch is used extensively for removing the presence of oil stains present in the leather. Rub cornstarch on the strained area until you feel heat on the surface. The heat removes the bond between oil and leather. When cornstarch is not present in house talcum powder can be used. Toothpaste can also be applied directly on the affected area. Rub toothpaste on the strain and wash if off gently. The presence of water ring in the leather can be removed by rubbing mayonnaise on the surface and leaving it undisturbed for a few hours. Rubbing the surface with normal water and wiping it with sponge also removes the water ring.
