Including more fruit, vegetables, and fish in your diet helps in lowering the risk of forming phlebitis. However, those containing high content of vitamin K such as soy bean oils and leafy green vegetables should be avoided at all costs since it can worsen the symptoms of the said condition. It promotes blood clotting and doesn’t work well with Warfarin, which is an anticoagulant medicine used by people suffering from phlebitis.
If your job calls for long travels, it’s advisable to wear elastic compression stockings to prevent inflammation and possible seepage of blood to the leg tissues. You should also keep your legs moving, or at least move or stretch them in regular intervals, to prevent blood clotting.
