Plantar fasciitis is mainly caused by the heavy pressure applied on the plantar fascia. To minimize the stress, it’s advisable to maintain a healthy weight. Besides keeping your weight in check, you should also consider investing on a good pair of shoes. Avoid wearing high heels, and choose a pair with excellent arch support and good shock absorbency. This goes the same for wearing running or other pairs of athletic shoes. Replace old ones, especially if they’ve stopped cushioning and effectively supporting your feet.
It’s also good to remember to frequently stretch your arches, calf muscles, and Achilles tendon. It doesn’t have to be a rigorous exercise routine, as simple stretch exercises will do.
