Dehydration

One of the main symptoms of parvo is dehydration, so it’s advisable to keep your puppy hydrated by giving plenty of fluids every half hour or so. It can be administered orally, or can be directly injected via enema. Normally, the puppy won’t expel the fluid but if it starts to do so, you should immediately visit your nearest vet as it’s more likely that the pup’s intestinal system is already twisted. You can also rub Karo or pancake syrup to your puppy’s gums to keep his glucose levels, so he will have the energy to eat and drink the food and water you give him.
